The offers on this page are papers that, for a variety of reasons, we have excess stock of. Normally we sell this excess paper to traders locally in Thailand (who then re-sell it at top prices). Now we’ve decided to offer the low price benefits to you directly.

Why do we have excess stock?

Because of three reasons, in order of magnitude:

Over delivery. For example, we have an order for 10,000 sheets of a particular colour and we make a run of 10,500 sheets. That leaves us with a small amount of excess stock of that colour.
Wrong colour match. Our customer orders a special in a particular Pantone colour. We make 5,000 sheets of it and find that 300 sheets are a slightly different colour. The paper is fine, the colour is lovely, but it's just not what the customer wanted for that project. That leaves us with a small amount of excess stock of that colour.
Wrong weight. We sell paper is specific weights, or grams per square metre (gsm). For example our milled papers are mostly sold as 25gsm. Typically we will run 5,000 metres per colour on the mill and frequently find that part of the run is a lower or higher weight - such as 50 metres at 20gsm and another 50 metres at 40 gsm. This 100 metres of paper is perfectly good, but it's not our ‘standard’ weight as advertised, so we cut it to size and store it for a rainy day!

We also have a grade marked as ‘Imperfections’. This applies to only a small number of papers. Our quality control is second to none in the industry locally and we have built our reputation on having only the best quality papers. Every single sheet of paper passes through two QC checks. Our QC staff are trained to reject a sheet for even tiny imperfections – such as a little mark for example. Papers offered here as imperfect are clearly recorded as such. However they can be used as normal paper. Nothing offered here as imperfect is unusable.
